So many things I didn’t know about your mom, my aunt! Wow. Not sure what else to say….other than we are all on the road to the end like it or not. I did notice one inaccuracy….in regards to arm wrestling…..my Dad always won until one day your dad (mu uncle) beat him. After that, no more arm wrestling! He wouldn’t even talk about it anymore. I guess that was an older/younger brother thing.
I do remember the nights when our parents would get together for drinks…..I remember playing army with my cousin Clay…..he got very upset when one American got killed after we wiped out about 100 Germans. I figured it was a pretty good kill ratio….but he didn’t like losing one guy. Sort of like my Dad.
Hope everyone is doing fine and wish all of you well.

Yeah Jeff,
I always thought it was weird as a little kid having three girl cousins I would visit one week, then three boy cousins the next. I remember being teased a lot as I was the youngest. I remember the Weimer boys saying that my Grandma was their Grandma, and I said “No she’s my Grandma”, and you guys would say , “No, she’s our Grandma”, and I got pretty upset about that.
I remember my Mom always praising how Jeff was the smart Weimer, and always talked about how I should study in school and try to be like him. I remember after you graduated and got a new job, you came by our HB house in your Lotus. My Mom was so proud of you, and I remember being so jealous (of your car that is).
Its great to hear from you.

I love your blog.
My name is Sandy Voitek Szalkowski. We are related! I am a Jones descendant from the Wilkes Barre area.
Your family came from Albert Jones. I come from Albert’s brother, John Jones.
They were the children of Peter Perry Jones and Elizabeth Eddy Jones of Cornwall, England (both Peter and Elizabeth are buried in the Forty Fort Cemetery in Forty Fort PA.
Thank you for providing your family story. It brought tears to my eyes. I currently live very close to where Albert Jones and his son Dewain Jones had a chicken farm!
Sandy
